Wagon Number Ranges HELP

[Class 67001]

Does anyone know all of the current number ranges for the wagons that run on the rail network, and the TOPS codes e.g. HAA. And I know there are books but I would like to avoid them.

It should be because this is where I suggested you put it after you first tried the photography area

 

It would be helpful if in future you check the available forum areas and select the appropriate one in the first place. Sometimes it's not obvious but in this case I can't see that there should have been any dilemma.

I don't think the number ranges of all current UK wagons is something credibly able to put into a post, not without somebody spending hours of work on the subject - the sheer amount of data involved is pretty huge - just the fact that people have written entire books on the subject should give you a rough idea over how much work is involved in answering that question.

 

So - I know you weren't after books, but I think in this case one may be the best option to answer your question.

Numbers should be correct, though from experience don't take their descriptions, build dates or TOPS codes as gospel as IIRC there are a few errors.

The web is also a good resource for getting an overview of current-outline wagon images, fotopic in particular has lots including my own site which is categorised by TOPS code, by rough commodity groups or by the style of vehicle - there are still holes in the coverage but there are now over 10,000 wagon and coach images on there, mainly from the last "digital" decade.

Yes I will have a look at the books. And I wasn't wanting other people to spend lots of time looking in books, I was just woundering if there were any websites about the matter.
