Class 67001
Does anyone know all of the current number ranges for the wagons that run on the rail network, and the TOPS codes e.g. HAA. And I know there are books but I would like to avoid them. Thanks in advance. 43110andyb
Might be a site worth looking at for the information your after. http://www.garethbayer.co.uk/wotw/index.php?cat=
eastwestdivide
There's a lot of numbering info at http://www.ltsv.com/w_ref.php, some current, some not.
10800
And I know there are books but I would like to avoid them. But presumably you are happy for others to spend time using their books to assist you .
Mod6
(I believe that this is the right place)(If it is the wrong place please lead me to the right place) It should be because this is where I suggested you put it after you first tried the photography area It would be helpful if in future you check the available forum areas and select the appropriate one in the first place. Sometimes it's not obvious but in this case I can't see that there should have been any dilemma.
Andy Y
And I know there are books but I would like to avoid them. For your future benefit in receiving assistance I would suggest it prudent to consider the forum zeitgeist with respect to seeking help - http://www.rmweb.co....-help-on-rmweb/
Glorious NSE
I don't think the number ranges of all current UK wagons is something credibly able to put into a post, not without somebody spending hours of work on the subject - the sheer amount of data involved is pretty huge - just the fact that people have written entire books on the subject should give you a rough idea over how much work is involved in answering that question. So - I know you weren't after books, but I think in this case one may be the best option to answer your question. Try here - £12 will get you a list of all the wagons in the AB, PO, Dept, UK-capable RIV, Internal users plus OTP. http://www.icrs.org.uk/Site/Publications/main_publications.htm (Other wagon-spotting books are available!) Numbers should be correct, though from experience don't take their descriptions, build dates or TOPS codes as gospel as IIRC there are a few errors. For an overview of current types two more books will get you most of the way there: http://www.ianallanpublishing.com/wagon-recognition-volume-1-carkinds-b-to-w.html http://www.ianallanpublishing.com/wagon-recognition-vol-2-carkinds-y-and-z.html (There's been a couple of newbuilds to add since they were published, but it's mostly still applicable) The web is also a good resource for getting an overview of current-outline wagon images, fotopic in particular has lots including my own site which is categorised by TOPS code, by rough commodity groups or by the style of vehicle - there are still holes in the coverage but there are now over 10,000 wagon and coach images on there, mainly from the last "digital" decade. http://ukrailrollingstock.fotopic.net/ More sites covering current wagons (in no particular order of preference) on Fotopic : http://wagons.fotopic.net/ http://uk-wagons.fotopic.net/ http://tavy-wagons.fotopic.net/ (just wagons at Tavy Jcn yard - up your street perhaps?) http://gingespotting.fotopic.net/ http://mike6874.fotopic.net/
Class 67001
Yes I will have a look at the books. And I wasn't wanting other people to spend lots of time looking in books, I was just woundering if there were any websites about the matter.
