corax67
Hi Nik, You could try ringing Ron and buying them direct from him http://www.ronchaplingearboxes.com/index.htm as far as I know they are still trading

RMweb Premium boxbrownie Posted December 6, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 6, 2010 Hi. Ron Chaplin tells me he has now retired. As one of his regular customers I tried to purchase four units from him recently and failed to do so. I have now switched supplier Well I wish he would explain that on his current website (or just take the website down if he has retired!), I have been awaiting a reply for an enquiry for a gearbox for a couple of weeks now a simple reply stating his retirement would have been courteous. May I ask which supplier you now use?

mikeg
Hi, I use ABC as they make units to fit anything you ask for! Their axle hung units are very good and I have two of them in a hymec one on each bogie, runs well and will pull a good load. I'm just a GOG satisfied customer excellent service, I just sent two axles for the motors to be fixed too and they came back in about 3 weeks which I think is good service for a single maker to give. regards mike g
