45125 Posted December 6, 2010 Share Posted December 6, 2010 The additional pipe work you are inquiring about is a modification carried out on all Scr 40s, it links all the bed plate drains together to common drain point on "A" and "B" sides of the locos. Any decent photo of any 64B engine will give you the layout of this pipe work. The pipes come have a drop them that come down to a TEE piece then a vertical pipe ( about 9") down to a valve, and from that a further pipe drops down a usually ended level with the bottom of the boiler water tank, The pipe work also varied in colour from blue to a bluey green.
