edcayton
Does anyone know what was being done to the GN line just North of Stevenage today? It looked as if they were doing something to the OHLE. Several strange yellow things on the line-all tracks in use. Ed
Leicester Thumper
Probably going over the whole electrical system due to the Snow and freezing weather as it has affected much of the ECML OHLE system...
RMweb Premium Richard E Posted December 26, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 26, 2010 Don't forget that Saturday/Sunday this weekend see no trains running so they are an ideal time for engineering works.
edcayton
Yes, sure, but I was wondering what they were actually doing. Several tears ago they used the Christmas break to replace a farm underbridge between Knebworth and Stevenage. They built the new one in the field next to the line beforehand and slid it into position during the break. Ed
RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted December 26, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 26, 2010 Engineering also at 36E this weekend. Trackwork as far as I'm aware. The Stevenage work is probably to sort out some of the difficulties with the OHL last week that resulted in East Coast services (electric anyway) not working into the X south of Peterboro'. 36E
