Gordon A
I am looking for a hard sheet plastic that is available in a thickness of 1mm or less. Must be resistant to the lubricants we use, and can be stuck by readily available glues, and can be worked with ordinary modellers tools. Can any one advise me of such a plastic? HLT 0109
Surely, the Evergreen brand, readily available from model shops and on-line, ticks all the boxes? As far as I know it is only available in white but is available in a range of thicknesses. I have used pieces of 1mm sheet to adjust coupling heights, in the make-up of buildings etc. It sticks with Revell Contacta,
Mark 37
We have a supplier up here (near Glasgow). They do all types of plastic in 4x2' sheets. They produce vac formed bath fronts and the likes. You could start looking around for something similar in your neck of the woods. I hope this gives you a starting point, Mark
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted February 1, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 1, 2011 What about Rowmark as used by York Modelmaking for their laser cut items and described here http://www.yorkmodelmaking.com/downloads/Frequently%20asked%20questions%20Aug%2009.doc seems to be stronger and stiffer than normal plasticard and available in .75mm. Manufacturer http://www.rowmark.com/ UK Distributor http://www.identify.co.uk/index.html Hope that helps Mike
