pitbull1845
Hi Phil, The wagons look good, I think your right, 15 would look even better! I look forward to seeing some passenger services in the future.. maybe a voyager?
Beresford Junction
And I remember you worrying about your ballasting! Look how nice the whole layout has all turned out. Ah yes the ballasting - that was a big step for me. Fortunately most of the damage is 'off shot', awaiting rebuilding. Beresford Junction
Just found these pics from Stafford on Sat: First a Beresfords of Stoke on Trent bus and second some mad adventurers preparing for the long journey home (with purchases in hand). Beresford Junction
http://www.flickr.co.../in/photostream Yes that's the one, and here is another shot taken through the driving snow - hence the auto focus was a bit off....
Beresford Junction
I've added six MEA wagons to the nine Tiger POA wagons (so still an odd number), however the Tigers don't like the points.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBs8u8tv-2E Now I must start rebuilding the station rather than messing about... ess1uk
we had a derailment here at the weekend too
pitbull1845
The tigers probably need a bit of weight added, add some ballast or see if ten commandments have fake loads for them.
bluefredie
Hi Phil Check back to back on the wagon that derailed having many derailments I always check the back to back measurment on all axels after purchasing rolling stock David
Beresford Junction
Hi Phil Check back to back on the wagon that derailed having many derailments I always check the back to back measurment on all axels after purchasing rolling stock David Hi David, Thanks - sorry to sound dim, but do you mean checking that the wheels are the correct distance apart? If so, apart from buying some more wheels, what can you do about it? I think it might be, as suggested by Scott, that they're a bit light. As you can see they tend to bounce about a lot. I'll try them with some ballast in to see if it improves. Phil

bluefredie
Hi Phil sorry for not explaining better yes the distance between the wheels is critical usually all you need to do is to widen the wheels by gently pulling them apart Markits have a handy guage that fits between the wheels and over the axle David

I did manage to drop them all (in their boxes) which made some of the axles pop out and might explain it. Cheers Phil
Katier
So when is the 'heritage' bus service starting Phil?
Beresford Junction
So when is the 'heritage' bus service starting Phil? It's all in hand.... However had a bit of a disaster over the weekend - I popped down to the cellar (on a non-railways related visit honest), to be met with the results of a burst central heating pipe. I've never seen so much water - hot and steamy like a sauna. Thankfully it wasn't above the layout and has only caused a bit of damage - any excuse for a bit of re-modelling. De-humidifier has been working overtime and almost back to normal - phew.
pitbull1845
Blimey Phil, thats not good... glad you're almost back to normal... What about putting in a harbour scene at Beresford??
RMweb Premium Temeraire Posted February 13, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 13, 2012 Hi Phil you seem to have inherited Scott's lucky streak this week then, I hope it doesn't come my way! Glad to hear the trainset is okay though.
MrWhippyO
Glad to hear the railway has minor damage, I bet it could have been much worse! James
Beresford Junction
Thanks for the comments, and yes there does seem to be a spate of water / heating releated incidents going on at the moment, so Ian watch out! The hangning basket liner is taking the longest to dry out - presumably as it's designed to hold water. Phil
Beresford Junction
Things are drying out nicely after a week of de-humidification, although the downside is that I've had a week of inactivity to plan some more changes - actively encouraged by others....
Beresford Junction
Here we go - a picture of the hole in the ceiling of the cellar, i.e. the underside of the ground floor - with the fixed pipe. As you can see it requireed a bit of emergency t&g removal to find the source.... And after all that water - the only permanent damage - a bit of splashing onto the Scalescenes containers, and yes I remember saying that I din't see the need to seal them with anything ;-) Cheers Phil

Beresford Junction
You noticed that there was an absence of any pics... No real progress, just more planning in my head - not quite as much fun as planning in 3D.
