There is another thread that has touched on these here http://www.rmweb.co....-editions-news/ but I thought it would be a good idea to put an entry under the products area incase others had not realised these are available.

This is the first of two twin packs commissioned by Model Rail magazine. This pack has 2 TSO's coach numbers 5385 and 5316.

The 2nd pack completes the rake and if I remember correctly contains another TSO and a BSK. At this time pack 2 is awaited in stock.

I am really pleased with them , I think they look the part and look forward to completing the rake with the final pack.

Some photos;

Clearly hasn't sorted it then !!!

No one said it was sorted.

If you read the other thread you'll see its been looked at.

Anyway if you want to discuss the issues further use the other thread, no point duplicating the discussion here.

Appologies if this is mentioned elsewhere but is there a pack 2 out or is it sold out? I can only see pack one on their site?

PS They look good!

Answers in my opening post above ;) :D

Surely a manufacturing error, shouldn't they have Trans Pennine branding ;)

Anybody do the transfers.............?

No they shouldn't. The livery and markings are based on photographs.

As to the other posts about service, I'll repeat myself on here because a new thread clearly allows an opportunity for another 'pop' at the MR Shop service.

1 It has nothing whatever to do with incompetence or otherwise at the Model Rail Office. It is a job contracted out to a fulfilment house.

2 It IS in the process of being moved to a model railway retailer as the present operation has proved unsatisfactory in a number of respects.

3 I would grateful if certain posters (whom I went out of my way to assist - successfully) would refrain from keep harping on everytime an opportunity comes up on RMweb to have a dig. WE ARE SORTING IT OUT but these things take time.

I have also received my coaches chuffed to bits with the TSO's.

I feel that some patience wouldn't go a miss with some people that are venting their spleens on here, and surely all the problems are not all down to "one" Model Rail Employee !!!

I had no intention in rail roading your thread but I apologies if you feel like that.

I don't.

I probably could have reworded the reply in terms of chase your order like me if you haven't received the pack, it was more in dissapointment than anything else.

Fair enough.

[Admin edit]

Right now listen, I was not dictating to you or anyone.

Its common sense to continue a like discussion where one is already being held and not repeat it in a different thread.

I resent your comment of me being dictorial and if you are any sort of man you will apologise for that comment....right !!

OK time out gents. Firstly Gary has linked the other thread and it would make sense to keep any remarks regarding problems with deliveries in the one place where they can be seen by those concerned and acted upon. In that way problems are much more likely to be resolved quicker than scattering them all over the place where they may not be seen.

Secondly Martin

But the object of the forum is for free comment by all and it is not your say to dictate what others write and where.

Well free comment within reason. That means within the rules which are there for all to follow and which obviously need to be brought to the fore once more. They are here. This one especially springs to mind.

2. Please do not post unsubstantiated or inaccurate criticism of any individual or organisation. Any criticism should be presented in the same manner as would be appropriate for a face to face conversation

As you will see in your post you have managed to stir up quite a storm already. Was that really necessary? Your post has been reported twice by people who consider it overly aggressive.

Now if we can return to the topic in discussion it would be much appreciated.

Here here, this thread was about how good the coaches are "or may be not to some people", I think they are a damned good job done by all concerned, and I can't wait for the TSO & BSO to finish off the 4 carriage set.

If they do sell out quickly lets hope there is another run by MR or Bachmann release them as a standard model to complement these limited editions.

Sorry, I forgot to say thank you to the OP for posting up the photos of the RR coaches. I'm glad you're pleased with them and hopefully the other pair will be arriving soon. For those who fancy the Network Rail Mk 2 it might be a good idea to get your order in soon. The stock we took to Glasgow sold out very quickly and, while I'm sure there are still plenty at the warehouse, they do seem to be very popular.

My twin pack arrived on Thursday and VERY nice they are too. Already got one Bachmann RR Mk1 and a ViTrains RR37 to complement. Just waiting on the other two Ltd Edn MkIIs to complete the train as per photo I've got. :)

One minor grumble I would make - at Model Rail Scotland the first twin pack was on Model Rail stand for £50. A bit miffed they're being sold for under subscriber price (albeit pennies) even before pre-orders placed last year were satisfied. I realise sale at the show saves both parties the postage and it shifts volume/serves as a showcase BUT a shame the timing wasn't quite the way round I would have hoped. Still, minor grumble: got the coaches I wanted at a price I was happy to pay so thanks to MR team for another well thought out Ltd Edn.

I think the paint job is spot on .

What I have not done yet is to match up my old RR Mk1 one but should be the same match as from same manufacturer.

Hi Gary, I matched my MK2 coaches & MK1s up the other day, the lower body cream area on the MK1s will require a respray if you want to match the MK2s, but I think this colour error was pointed out in some reviews when the MK1 coaches were released a few years ago.

Either way a respray or a bit of heavy weathering is required to make these coaches match in a mixed rake, I will be respraying the 2 MK1s "BSO & SO" that are going together with my "extra MK2 TSO pack that I bought" to make up a matched rake, not to much hardship for me as it is an easy enough area to mask off and respray, also I was going to renumber the MK1s as well.

I'm fully aware that the livery is spot on, It was a tongue in cheek comment. The coaches are stunning and would look fabulous behind a generator circa 1987 thats all.

I'm really looking forward to the DRS Escort coaches and may look into some Network Rail Coaches.

Chris and the Team should be applauded for the conception and production of some of the best models to grace the market - Metronet 66, GBRf Medite 66 and recently DRS 20

Chris and the Team have very quickly realised a problem with fullfilment and are addressing it, I'd hate for this to sour what is a very welcome, needed and dare I say much appreciated element of the hobby.

Were it not for the likes of Model Rail, RAIL Excusive (Formerley Rail Express)those of us who are not masters of the respray would not have trhe variety of models

Thank you to Chris and his Team and all those who work on Limited Editions

Now I know why people can't get any MK2 seconds Bachmann are doing them all as RR for Model Rail :D. They look V.NICE.

OzzyO.

Indeed one may question why these need to be limited edition when they are pretty mainstream. I feel we are now seeing certain limited editions that a few years ago would have been a std release. Note certain not all, many Ltd's are niche and would never be general release and MR are doing fine work on niche models/liveries.

PS This is not a criticism of MR just a general observation, Im an MR reader.
