Guest Max Stafford
I recently picked up one of these for a good price, but I would like to know whether any survived into BR days in non-revenue service. It would make an interesting vehicle in a 1950s PW rake. Thanks. Dave.

James
There's one in the Transport Museum in Hull - obviously survived intact so may be worth finding out a bit more about it in case it remained in service for longer than others?
RMweb Gold Worsdell forever Posted March 26, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 26, 2011 The vast majority were gone by 1928/29 but a few V1/3s lasted into the mid 30's. One was sold to Tyne Improvement Commission and one to the Derwent Valley Light Railway and probably a few (as Mark has pointed out) to the NCB and I believe LMR? not sure about that one though. I was told a few years ago by Mike Grocock that at least one managed to survive in the yards around Hartlepool until about 1947/48, it is not known weather it was in service or not.
