darren01
HI All I was looking at getting Blanford Forum that Hornby have just brought out and have noticed it seem to be carrying the wrong tender on the model, according to the book I have; West Country and Battle of Britain Pacifics, Blanford Forum carried the same tender from the day it was built until withdrawal in 1964, it also seem to have not have it tender modified, so why have Hornby given it this type of tender? Forester
I think it is correct, Darren. It has the large 5500 gallon tender which was modified in June 1961. There are plenty of photos around showing it in this condition with a late crest. The error is in the skirting ahead of the cylinders, which should be removed, but this has been discussed here already.
RMweb Gold Graham_Muz Posted May 5, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 5, 2011 I agree with Forester. The same book you quote Darren, whilst correctly saying she was paired with the same tender throughout her life also states it was modified, with cut down raves etc, in June 1961.
