RAL/Pantone to humbrol/tamiya

Recommended Posts

I have just bought the northern rail transfers from Electra (really good service, even on the other side of the globe!) but I am struggling to find a colour match for the recommended painting of the "filler port on the right-hand bodyside"

I managed to find this thread from the old forum, with the correct RAL and Pantone colours: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=25355&p=388528&hilit=northern+pantone#p388528

How do I take these and convert them into paint I can use?

Thanks!

HI All

Try this but its not very reliable.

Pantone is more of a printing and fabric colour spec than paint.

Cant halfords mix paint to a spec in small cans!!!

Halfords is a car parts store. Any automotive paint supplier shoul be able to mix a small touch-up pot of paint for you, but I don't know if they can use Pantone references. You might have to choose the closest match from a swatch.

If you only need a really small amount, can't you just mix your own?
