Xerces Fobe2
The track layout was changed in the 1980' s I am not sure of the year. The original siding layout was possibly unique by having a point from each of the running line connected to a double slip - which then fed both sidings. This would make an ideal fiddle yard for a small model railway layout. XF
LNERGE
Is there a date on the stamp in the bottom RH corner of the drawing? It looks like a 1980s one to me The jury is still out regarding the date of the diagram..
Xerces Fobe2
The jury is still out regarding the date of the diagram.. I zoomed in on the date - it looks like 1958 or 1988 - I think 1988 is most likely the correct date. XF
RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted October 3, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 3, 2012 Issued 5th Feb 1988. That would be correct for the preparatory work for the DC Lines Resignalling. Work done around May or June possibly?
andyman7
Yes IIRC the siding was modified in advance of the resignalling, temporarily controlled from the box. When the new signalling was commissioned the new crossover to the south of H&W was also commissioned.
RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted October 6, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 6, 2012 The picture I posted at the start of this thread shows that the second siding had been removed by the time of that visit, which was week commencing 20 June 1988. Southernman46
When loads of young keen graduate Railtrack engineers who appeared never to have laid a sleeper in their lives turned up, and started telling us how we were supposed to do it. and guess what NR are doing at the moment !!! - I was asked / told to put one into an Asst TSM's post - "over my dead body" was my typically PC reply. Didn't take me long to depart NR after this..............the future is not bright
