Boleyn Road
The diesel is nearly finished now. It just requires nameplates (from Narrow Planet), weathering and glazing. I will post more pictures of saddle tank when the painting is finished. Here are a few pictures of the diesel posed on my modern image layout. scots region
Very nice and very well done to you, do you plan to weather them at all?
Boleyn Road
Very nice and very well done to you, do you plan to weather them at all? Yes but not for a little while as I am awaiting nameplates. I will post pictures of the finished article so to speak.
Boleyn Road
I have put the Saddle Tank back together - I am very pleased with the result. It just requires nameplates (again from Narrow Planet), weathering and glazing. Yes neither of the locos are accurate but they are good enough for me. And heres a photo of it with a MK1 for Richard

scots region
One minor quip, I feel the lines on the saddle tanks detachable roof, detract from the model to a degree. I now its too late to fill them in, but is there a reason to leaving it removable?

Baby Deltic
Very nice work. That diesel shunter has given me an idea - I wonder if one of those shunter bodies would fit an 03 or 04 chassis......
Boleyn Road
Very nice work. That diesel shunter has given me an idea - I wonder if one of those shunter bodies would fit an 03 or 04 chassis...... Thanks. The body is about the same length as an 03 so it might well work. Boleyn Road
I have filled the seem at the back of the cab. I think this has improved the look a lot. Heres another shot of the loco posed with an LNER 13 ton steel open wagon weathered by Lord and Butler

Butler Henderson
Finally got round to attacking one - it was the diesel that fell out of the cubboard first. A flick through Irwells Industrial Railways in Yorkshire came up with a loco with similar chunky steps as provided by Bachmann and those to the cab also have a solid rear to avoid feet geting chopped by the connecting rod. I have swopped the steps around so that the wider ones are under the cab and lined up correctly under the cab door.
RMweb Premium MJI Posted April 29, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 29, 2012 Just seen this - definate influences of Hunslet on the Diesel - so the original exhaust was OK. 03/04 chassis would improve it a lot - as all the small DM shunters were jackshaft Nice little conversions for industrials though
scots region
What was the saddle tanks name?

Butler Henderson
The May 2012 Railway Bylines (page 274) has a photo of a 0-6-0ST "Shellingford" built by Shelton Iron Steel & Coal in 1912 which looks very similar to the Junior 0-6-0ST - it is described as being a rather ungainly looking machine.
