It´s been a while since I put a video on here so here are a couple of 20s on a MGR.

A class 26 that has been weathered and had sound installed.

And a Dapol 73 with a Deltic sound chip installed. (As you do....)

Found you at last Andy, after seeing your great videos on youtube it's satisfying to find your layout thread.

Glad you found me Simon.

As I said last night on You Tube, I haven´t done much to the layout lately. I find wagon kit building quite therapeutic for some reason at the moment?

Hopefully I´ll get some more stuff done on the layout this winter. Ballasting would be good but I´ve been saying that I´m going to do that for the last 6 years and so far done about 2 metres!!

Although I seem to have lost the urge to do anything on the layout these last few months, I have been doing other bits and pieces such as my first foray into nameplates.

MELD was the victim as it was small enough for a trial.

This was routed by a friend who was doing some signage jobs for me and there was a bit of left over space on the sheet of 20mm PVC sheet.

And some 1mm aluminium sheet.

A coat of undercoat was applied and 3 coats of red acrilyc out of a rattle can.

The aluminium was stuck on top with some contact adhesive.

Now wondering what the next plate will be?

Although I´ve got Ballymoss and Crepello drawn up, I might go for one of the early western region class 47 plates.

Something I´ve had on the backburner for ages are some vinyls for various projects.

The main one being some miniature plates for 47460 "Great Eastern", one of Stratford´s first attempts to rub the establishment up the wrong way.

See http://www.class47.co.uk/c47_zoom_v3.php?img=0492051147200 for more information.

Some time ago when I completed 47172 with sound I mentioned that I was going to do this loco and even uploaded the nameplate but had little else to print with it at the same time.

Little by little I´ve been adding more projects to the print file and this August, another one of my sign making friends did me a favour and printed it off onto some white backed vinyl.

He had the forethought of printing 4 copies of each which means I can sell the other 3 plates on Ebay and make millions. :sarcastichand:

The vinyls were stuck on a bit of leftover black 3mm PVC. The originals were car numberplate letters attached to a piece of wood.

The 4mm scale plates to be applied to a Heljan bog standard blue Duff.

One of the other projects was to put the station name on the platform lamps.

2 down, 38 to go!!

One of the other projects I´ve always fancied doing is a flat sided Polybulk wagon (of the Belgian registered variety).

These have been covered before on RMWeb but meant that I had to do a cut and shut on 2 wagons and didn´t fancy destroying 2 wagons.

As I´m quite partial to a bit of modellers license, I´ve used a recent release of a slightly shorter Electrotren grain wagon. The design was done using Corel Draw and saved to PDF to print.

The original wagon is finished in a light grey similar to the original.

The vinyl was cut to size and stuck to the sides of the wagon and trimmed.

Still needs a bit of weathering to dull it down.

More soon.

Stop playing with the Renfe traction, Andy. You're giving me ideas! The Polybulks look terrific, btw. PS: 28 degrees on the coast here in Mascarat and I managed to find a pint of Cruzcampo for €1.10 before leaving Benidorm...

It costs that for about half a pint where I live!!!

At that price I might have to start looking at houses in Benidorm.

I´ve picked up a dose of the sneezes after the cold weather last week.

It actually rained aswell!!!

Back up to 26º here today though.

Hope you´re all having a good time up on the coast.

Thanks for the link to the info on the smart little shunter looks very usefull . Is it dcc ?

It has a 6 pin DCC connector buried under the cab and was a right pain to get it all back together.

It´s not that heavy but seems to run well now it has run in.
