RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted July 6, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 6, 2011 As my time in the North West draws to a close, my son and I decided to head out for the usual coal, on the way we decided the location of choice would be the 5 arches viaduct at Walton Old Junction, however I (eventually!) remembered there was a NR train around the area and we realised we could just about make it to watch the departure so we headed for Slutchers Lane, overlooking Warrington Arpley. We arrived as the 37s where passing the box, fortunately they were running late and were heading to Walton Old (where they reversed and returned) so we managed to get 3 out of the 4 journeys passed Arpley junction. 37604 and 37607 on 2Q88, 09:00, Longsight TMD - Baguley Fold Junction via Liverpool / Arpley / Walton Old Jcn / Arpley / Liverpool The tower at Darebury labs watches over a Voyager heading South and the 37s returning The loaded coal from Ellesmere Port arrives 70003 on 6F02, 12:07, Ellesmere Port Manisty Wharf - Fiddlers Ferry Power Station loaded HHA/HXA The 37s depart, for Liverpool Lime Street Followed by the coal 70003 on 6F02, 12:07, Ellesmere Port Manisty Wharf - Fiddlers Ferry Power Station loaded HHA/HXA Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Me too but new opportunities, in love, life and, of course RAILWAYS beckon - there are signal boxes and signals that need recording before their abolition next summer, and plenty of other stuff around, so expect Norfolk/Suffolk postings to appear.
