The Hornby catalogue influence

Recommended Posts

Ah, the "Senior Freightliner" Set, that included the Crane and a "spare" container (Tartan Arrow Livery Long Box).

I don't know the artist....but it is a great piece of art, and doesn't have the Tension Lock Couplings! ;)

Even if the headcode is "Express Passenger or Breakdown Train Going To Clear The Line"! (But that is Tri-ang Hornby's fault I suppose!)

And neither loco was air-braked, so wouldn't have been seen at the head of a Freightliner.

That Freightliner set lid has the same composition and perspective as the R.506 Freight set. Just found another classic box lid, the R.507 Freightmaster set (green 31). Also, the R.543 Express passenger (black Princess) set is a little gem. The only artist names I can find are D. Ivory and Ken Rush but there seem to be at least 7 different styles used on the lids and I would love to know who they are.........
