RMweb Premium DLT Posted July 22, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 22, 2011 Hi guys. Just found this rather intresting website on the ACE http://www.atlantic-...ess.co.uk/ace-2 Lovely website, very nostalgic. Please can anyone identify the location of the top photo on page 1? Is it the River Axe near Axminster? Cheers, Dave.
RMweb Premium Kris Posted July 23, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 23, 2011 I don't think that the river is wide enough to be the Axe. The river is in spate so looks a lot wider than it normally would have been. It looks more like a wide stream.
Guest 34008Padstow
Just had a look through my withered arm book and i believe its a flooded river sem near Tisbury
RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted July 23, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 23, 2011 I'd go along with the Sem. It's certainly not Axminster as the hills there are the higher, steeper and flat-capped Blackdowns. The Axe valley itself is quite wide but doesn't feature those expansive and gentle slopes. That link is a good find as well.
