gastwo
Hi All. I have just aquired a Jouef Decauville 0-4-0 loco, possibly a late Playcraft model, and I would like to get into the workings. Any hints on disassembly, before I resort to butchery tatics? I could sacrifice the body, but wondered if there is a proven method. TIA, Shaun. Shaun From memory some years ago, try unscrewing the chimney. Phil T.

halfwit
If your interested, Nonneminstre Models make an outside frame kit for this loco.
Nickinwestwales
As noted above, unscrew chimney then gently ease body off-avoid placing pressure on the cab as it is a weak spot-front supports are glued in plugs whilst back plate is glued across floor. Front pegs come free, back plate doesn`t-result cabless quarry version with obvious `snapped-off` line on back of footplate Hope this helps ATB Nick
