Beamish Museum - Power from the Past Weekend

Beamish Museum, in County Durham has been holding a "Power from the Past " event from 1st to 4th September.

 

I went on Friday 2nd, took a lot of photos and had a very enjoyable day.

Too bad about the overcast weather on Friday morning.

 

At least the place wasn't mobbed out like it is at weekends.

Their new coal fired chipshop is worth checking out.

Some great photos there guys! I have just spent the last 5 days at beamish helping out crewing the locos (im driving Coffepot and the Peckett in two of the images above). I didnt get to see anything other than the colliery, so seeing these is very nice.

I've never been to Beamish, looks like a rather good living museum I should visit..

 

The LNER Y7 though is a perfect beginners kit rather than the Connoisseur one which was based on an outside cylinder prototype.
