RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted September 28, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 28, 2011 A topic to gather together photos I've taken of cabins around the East Anglia area. Kennet - this box is due to be abolished on 11 November 2011 when colour lights are introduced between Bury St Edmunds and Chippenham Junction - to increase the capacity in preparation for the Olympics, when this line should see a lot more freight.

Tim Horn
Kinda related to Thetford box above, the old line from Thetford to Swaffham, the only box to survive not being demolished in the 60's closures along this line was Holme Hale. Photos before the old goods shed was turned into a private dwelling. One for the "one day" modelling pile. RMweb Gold Trevellan Posted October 23, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 23, 2011 The gable ends look unusual to my eyes. Almost like breeze blocks instead of matchboarding.
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted November 14, 2011 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 14, 2011 Visited Kennet on 12 November 2011, the day after its abolition. The nameboards had been removed and a couple of location cupboards, demolition had been "delayed" New colour lights, all the semaphores and the banner had been recovered.
