According to the latest issue of Globe, Oxford Diecast are releasing their VW T25 Van in pastel white with the registration CBW425V, which represents an early version of the T25 produced in 1979, while their Cornet Blue / Guinea Blue T25 'minibus' version will carry the registration A387BVO representing a vehicle manufactured in 1983. Both vehicles would therefore be suitable for a 1987 car park, more or less straight from the box.

Thanks for the ideas.

Also on the lookout for some suitable Ford vehicles of the time.

If you have any trouble finding Knightwing kits try getting in touch with Something Wicked models at Huddersfield, which is where they are based.

You could try looking at Langley models and Doug Roseman fairground models for white metal kits of various trucks and trailers from the 70s and 80s.

Also if you try and track down some old kits from Model Bus Company. They did kits for several mk3 ford transits, several ford cargo trucks and several Volvo FL10 trucks.

Corgi did some diecast trucks which are about the right scale for Ford cargo, a MAN and a bonneted truck either a Scania or Volvo, not sure which.

The Doug Roseman kits are about as common as hens teeth these days. Doug produced an ERF B Series and a Foden S80 using the tooling originally produced by Mi Kits in the 1970s. The tooling subsequently passed to Motorway Models and I believe is still held by the family who ran that company. Last time I heard from Doug, he was doubtful whether he'd ever be able to get access to it for any more to be produced. It was a shame as the kits were first class and stood favourable comparison with anything produced since then.

The Model Bus Company kits are equally rare, they also acquired some of the Mi Kits range, the Ford D series tractor unit and Taskers trailer.

Oxford Diecast produce models of the Ford Capri (Mk3), Ford Fiesta (Mk1) and the Ford Escort (Mk3), all of which should be suitable for a late 1980's layout.  I think the Capri was produced until 1986 and one of my friends was still driving a Mk1 Fiesta in 1993.

Although not yet announced, Oxford Diecast are to produce a version of the Ford Transit (Mk3), although I am not sure whether this is the 1986 version or the post facelifted version from 1994.  If I was an expert on the vehicles then I would know from looking at the sample on display at Modelrail Scotland in February, but alas I am not.  Personally I'm hoping for the latter.  The Ford Cargo is also in Oxford Diecast's current releases.

The 'fastfront' Transit was facelifted twice, in 1991 (when it got IFS and lightly revised front) and 1994 (oval grille), but going by the picture on this page the ODC model will be the original 1986 version with squarer headlights; the perfect companion for the Cargo.
