"I was quite sane .............then I met Captain Kernow"

I met Capt Kernow and Queensquare....I'm not sure if they or their layouts survived :jester:

Given the juxtaposition of the two branches of theSCC canal, the S&D, the GWR, the various proposed other railways, assorted coal and stone tramways all in and around this part of North Somerset, then frankly I think that you can make up just about any railway history for the area to suit your particular needs/interests.

How gratifying to see ones philosophy on model railway life getting an airing far wider than it probably deserves!

And then there was MIDstock that great rock and roll gig in 1964 in the grounds of Midford Castle, with a little unknown band at the bottom of the bill called The Rollalong Stones. Fans flocked by the train load, ah were now in pure fantasy.

Back to reality we had a working session today and laid the cork for the down main (well 10 feet anyway) as well as made a start on 2 scalescenes projects the first one was the platform kit in TX02 and the viaduct arches in TX24 we chose 2 different textures to see which we liked the best. The platforms were partially made purely as a mock up to check clearances etc. We did find 1 problem and that was we are using Midwest Cork Roadbed but its designed for US railroading and is a fraction too high we think so we may have to put some shims under the platform to raise it up a bit. Other than that were happy with the curve its a bit steeper than we wanted but did shorten the overall length of the layout.

First few feet of track down not much to show for a days work and excuse the mess. We went back to the original track plan but jiggled the track positioning slightly so that if we wanted we could add a small 2 ft section between the boards in the future.

Well ballasting is underway, hate it so I can manage about 6 inches a day so I find any excuse to get away from it like messing around in Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro but its been a good week 2 things arrived 1 was a new lens for the camera and the Maunsell 3 car S&D Set

Well all thats happening is more ballasting and wires under the board, must say been playing with my new toy recentley, no not the loco but the lens that took the photo. Been slowly adding some stock, have 3 of the 16t minerals now with 4 more on the way, it's not easy balancing family life with hobbies as many of you know.. Trying to get get through a mental block I hate ballasting because I am so bad at it but it has to be done.
