DonB
Ok, I give up,..... What is a Gowrie?? I assume that (from the Fairlie reference) that it is an articulated loco????
halfwit
Gowrie is available form Chivers Finelines and the Double Fairlie from Langley Models, see the Parkside Dundas website. Both are whitemetal kits and need seperate RTR chassis.
DonB
Thanks, Paul. Didn't realise it was a loco name, not make!
micknich2003
Thanks, Paul. Didn't realise it was a loco name, not make! It is not a loco name as such it is a type of construction, such as Mallet, Garret etc. Not many were built, without looking, I think a "Gowerie" was an attempt to circumvent "Beyer Peacock's patents. BernardTPM
"Gowrie" was a Single Fairlie built by Hunslet http://www.festipedia.org.uk/wiki/Gowrie Chivers kit RC5, designed to fit a modified Minitrix 2-6-2T
Rick_Skateboard
Gowrie is the loco's name. It was an 0-6-4T Fairlie built for the NWNGR by Hunslet in 1908. Rick
micknich2003
I got the spelling mixed up, the type of Loco I had in mind was a 2-6-6-4 and known as a "Golwie". Only four were ever built, these being in 1927 for the Ivory Coast Railway. Mick Nicholson.
BernardTPM
An interesting beast, all the same!
micknich2003
An interesting beast, all the same! Would make a very interesting and unusual model. Now if only "Grouping" had not taken place and the Hull & Barnsley Rly had bought ten for working the Mineral Traffic. Don't put ideas in to my head, I have a H&B "Mallet" half finished. Best Wishes, Mick.
