Bill
Having looked at this photo of Hinton Manor in preservation... Is she pulling an intermediate Tender?

Silver Sidelines
The Churchward 3500 gallon intermediate types were rare compared to the riveted and flush riveted types. Manors attached to the intermediate type include 7803, 7807, 7810, 7821, 7824, 7827 and 7828. I'm not sure of the exact build quantities but the other two types seem to be split roughly 50/50 and would probably have made up 95% of tenders allocated to the Manors. Here's a picture of 7818 with a flush riveted tender. 7808 only had the 4000 gallon tender in 1965 before that it was the ususal mix of 3500 riveted and flush riveted types. The other exception I noted was 7814 which had a Collett 3500 gallon intermediate tender from mid 1964 until withdrawl, This was a different design to the Churchward type. jjnewwitt - My Dad and I had a wee look into Aberystwyth shed around 1960/61 and we too spotted Granville Manor, but sadly did not photograph the tender! Whilst researching liveries I came across this interesting picture of another Manor at Llangollen in 1954 complete with rake of ex LNER stock - what an opportunity for a modeller. jjnewitt
You lucky thing Ray getting to have a wee look around Aberystwyth shed in the days of steam. The tender looks from the picture like a flush riveted example which would be right for the dates. That other photo you found is lovely. I'm amazed that no one (to my limited knowledge) has done a model of Llangollen. I think it would make a great model. You could do it as a U shape and put the station on one side and the goods sidings on the other.
