RMweb Gold RFS Posted January 29, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 29, 2012 Unless you split these into 3 or 4-way sections (at most), they're very difficult to pull apart.

Jenny Emily
I've always used the RS components version. Used without cutting down I've never found pulling them apart at all difficult. Just give yourself a little slack on all the connecting wires. I've just finished wiring one up tonight in the shed to cross a baseboard join. I tend to leave them untrimmed, as sometimes the spare connectors come in useful for extra feeds that weren't originally envisaged, like isolating section feeds. Chubber
Well, I'm glad that now a few more people will see this and know about them, this sort of thing can be a whole hidden world to newcomers to the hobby...[Thinks..."Hhhm, could I make a cardboard version....?] Doug
davet
I mounted them on strips of wood approx 1/2inch square one of which I screw to the baseboard. This stops them bending when pulled apart. They are still a tight fit however.
Crosland
I mounted them on strips of wood approx 1/2inch square one of which I screw to the baseboard. This stops them bending when pulled apart. They are still a tight fit however. I have some mounted on two baseboards that mate when the baseboards are joined. They're not rigid enough to use for alignment, however. Andrew
