Paul-H
Hi Guys Anyone know if its possible to get an 8pin to 21pin converter, like the one that DCC Concepts do http://www.bromsgrovemodels.co.uk/pd1224773591.htm?defaultVariants=search0_EQ_Single item_AND_{EOL}&categoryId=112 but the other way round so that a 21pin decoder will fit an 8pin Loco. Thanks for any links Paul
Ron Ron Ron
Why bother with an adapter? Just use a decoder with the appropriate number of pins. Apart from the extra space an adapter + decoder will require, having an extra electrical interface is a potential source of problems. Plus it adds to the total cost of the installation. . Paul-H
Its because I already have a 21pin with the correct sounds but the new loco its going in has 8 pins, suppose i could sell the 21 pin and buy an 8 pin. Paul

Thanks for any links Paul ESU sell replacement circuit boards with a 21pin socket. all you would have to do is connect the wires onto the solder pads and fix the new board into the loco. For sounds a 21pin cant interface with an 8pin socket as the speaker wires are on the extra pins that would be lost.
