Does anyone know if there will be any traders at this show selling Zimo 6-pin decoders for N gauge locos? Bit of a specific 'ask' I know, but they seem fairly hard to get hold of, but the best for the job...

Cheers,

Benn.

See you Saturday for a natter. In Welsh is it to go along with the layout?

I'll be manning the Middleton Railway on Sunday until late lunch. Let's hope I'm not stuck in the office late on Saturday evening!

Steam at Middleton both days with Ghost trains for those looking to see 305mm:1' scale as well.

If you have not heard Abbey Light will not be running at present see their website.http://abbeylightrailway.webs.com/

A good day out in the West Riding today.

A good varied and interesting selection of layouts: covered all the main scales and eras. Trade OK, perhaps a little heavy on RTR and secondhand, but most bases covered and we got all we set out to buy. Plus 'school dinners' up to usual high standards and low prices!

Recomended to any one in the County.

As Paul said a good all round show, yes there was quite a bit of second hand but I did find some Gibson driving wheels for a future project and some buffers for my Midland 2-4-0!

Calderwood was the highlight for me, the lighting had the look of broken cloud over the penines, you could almost feel the wind going through you!

A good selection of layouts today I thought.

These were the ones I returned to:

Calderwood, an L&Y station with yard, and a high level yard reached via what looked like a 1:4 incline. Never saw the upper yard moving though. The LNWR 0-8-2T seemed to living up to its reputation on occasions.

Bannochbrae, a Scottish blue diesel terminus with an uncoupling system made out of blades of grass in the fourfoot.

Schwachhausen, an O gauge German terminus based in Bremen in 1962, with some superb weathered DB steam with sound, and coaches lit up. According to the info, locos are by a German firm called Kiss here http://www.kiss-mode...en.de/br44.html Weatherng a 3000 euro loco must take some courage.

Top one for me was Kilbrandon, S scale Irish

Enjoyable as ever. I am there on Calderwood as really excellent. Trader mix was more populist than specialist. The lad from Squires was flying solo very well.

One or two layouts could have done with someone running an airbrush and vacuum cleaner over the stock and layout.

Some really nice layouts - Calderwood stood out (could do with being dirtier, but that's just me) and I thoroughly enjoyed examining all the stock in their fiddle yards. Nick Easton's excellent wagon stock was also a highlight and how many shows do you go to and see two Irish layouts? Lunch was copious and inexpensive - a good day out all round.

Thanks for the very positive feedback. I did say the food is generally good - syrup sponge on saturday followed by chocolate sponge and custard yesterday meant afternoon operatiosn was far too relaxed.

Numbers were very similar to last year - all of our traders want to return and plans are already afoot for next year!

Thanks to exhibitors, traders, club members, Andy and hos team at GSAL and most of all to those who attended.

I texted Chris Evans twice last week and the second time he read it out - what a hero he is!

Good to meet you and your assistant Saturday. Did he finally learn that passenger trains are normally associated with the platform roads.

Did not get to try the catering as I headed over to the Huddersfield show for a gander there. Had to squeeze a lot in that day and it proved worthwhile.

Took a bit of prodding with a sharp stick but he got the hang of it later on Saturday.

Biggest problem = plastic non kadee couplers!
