RMweb Gold daveyb Posted March 12, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2012 This article http://www.royalnavy...312-New-Engines popped up on my browser at work, thought it may be of interest. The Aux genny in the Hunt class is a later mark of the locomotive engines, the mains being a size larger. No longer will the mine hunters leave in their own smoke screen... Sorry if its been covered before. Dave
Hesperus
Somebody could make a sort of reverse DP2 with Deltic engines in a class 50 body I'm assuming theres still a few rusting hulks of 50s still lurking round somewhere.

A twin engined Class 50 look-a-like? Cheers, Mick
Boris
Didn't Deltic 22 get a new generator this way? IIRC all the connections are in different places and they can be a bit of a pig to install.
RMweb Premium keefer Posted March 14, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 14, 2012 Wasn't that one of Roger Ford's pet ideas? A twin engined Class 50 look-a-like? Cheers, Mick that would be the 'super deltic' - twin deltic engines, 4000hp in a cl.50-ish body. proposed in the late 60s but never progressed with http://www.fictitiou...p?51029_BRB.jpg (although this says 4600hp!) presumably it wouldn't have been fitted with MU jumpers, so putting the headcode on the front (like a 47) would be possible
