RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted March 23, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 23, 2012 Hi all, Having decided the first of my pair of the will be 20 302..... I'm still looking to decide which 20 3XX will become it's partner! I have the models in hand and have made a start on 20 302 already... Emailed Mr Shawplan (Brian) to see if he will do CL20 3XX and 20 9xx etches in N/2mm. Yes - there are etches out there - but if we can raise the standard with Brian's offerings - why not? So.... Window surrounds - side and cab end Side boxes - 2 varieties (that I can find) Etched Side Grill to match new side boxes Wipac light units Hi Int headlights MU cable and box Snowploughs Anything else I've overlooked? Remember - this is 2mm/N! Ideas/suggestion on how to model - what bits to use etc! Much appreciated - Photos even more essential though! RMweb Gold big jim Posted March 23, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 23, 2012 if your modelling pre compass livery i'd go for 20306 as it had a different colour roof to 20302 for a bit of variety (brush 301-305 had duck egg blue roofs, rfs modified ones had black roofs) they didn't have ploughs though not that it probably noticable in N but they have gps ariel brackets on the front of the cab too above one of the windows
BernardTPM
The RETB box on the cab roof, snowplough brackets on the bufferbeams? (included in my packs, of course) I assume this is for the old Farish 20.

Stu from EGDL
Hi Phil; Not 304 as that has perforated bogie beams. Possibly an etch to include finer cab footsteps for the 'B' side?? And if you are going for the whole hog, the cab aerial??? Not 301/309 as they require nameplates. Good luck in your quest. Regards; STU from EGDL Hi Stu, Already noted 20 304 as being a possible no go... Then I looked at some photos! Seems to have one of each type bogie. ie 1 perforated and 1 not perforated. Perforated one is at the cab end in several shots I've looked at. EDIT - This seems to be quite common on DRS CL20's! Will add footsteps to the possible parts list! Stu from EGDL
Hi Phil; Would it send you/me/anybody completely demented to try and drill a set of perforated bogies. Prize for the first successful pic of a resounding 'well dun!!' Later; STU from EGDL
BernardTPM
I'm not 100% sure, but I think Dick did it for one of his Hunslet Barclay pair on Acton.
