panniertank
If someone out there can identify this motor I'd be grateful - maybe then I can find another once I can give model and make.
RMweb Premium Welly Posted April 5, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 5, 2012 It looks a bit like a DS10 motor.
relaxinghobby
It's the one Bachmann use in their small loco's, eg the Bachmann Junior Billy or 'Not Thomas' and USA small Bo-Bo diesel shunter with two separately motored bogies.
billbedford
You could substitute one of the small open framed Mashimas for this one, they are likely a better motor.

Thanks for the help but the Mashima motor is way too small physically - the motor shown in photo is still working except it's missing a carbon brush plus its spring. Thats all wrong with it. The loco it comes out of is a Branchline pannier tank (old one). If anyone has a beaten up pannier that has this motor (split chassis) and wishes to sell it, I will be happy to buy it. Horsetan
Looks similar to the 5-pole skew-wound motors that Roco put in a great many of their models
Bruciethefish
Bachmann part no. for this motor is 350.106, if that's any help. I don't know if they sell replacement brushes, or will just want to flog you a new motor, but it's worth trying their service department;- they are usually quite helpful..
