Peter Kazmierczak
A good choice of prototype, an eye for detail and the simplicity of space = A totally effective, realistic and railway-like scene. Well impressed. Peter

GRUNFOS
Thanks guys, really flattered by the comments. Never really understood the interest in dioramas but now I've got started I think I may be hooked, so many camera angles to use. I fancy a double track mainline with single passing loop and crossover just like where I spent my early teens at the top of Crewe bank in Shrewsbury. Plenty of scope for blue class 08,20,24,25,31,33,37,40,45,46,47,50,56. Must finish this first though.
leavesontheline
Camouflage spray paint? How do they keep the colours separate in the can? Amazing what they can do these days. Can you get Black and Yellow striped paint too? That would solve many a masking problem.
GRUNFOS
The paint range has been on their shelves for over 18 months but no one had noticed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come to think about it I've put the tin down and now can't find it. Glad I didn't paint the whole board!!
GRUNFOS
Have started ballasting today, what a b****y b**l ache, about 7 inches done in about 4 hours! Using Carrs 2mm light grey and a sprinkling of ash fixed with oringinal klear. Have a new fleet member thats sitting on the ballasted area. Will be renumbered and lighted weathered in due course. grid56104
couple of my b&w photos of Polmadie including the part ur modelling. Sorry about the quality but as a youth did not have a decent camera at the time. Max
GRUNFOS
Thanks Max, only got there after it was redeveloped. Also hadn't reallised there were pits in front of the shed, won't be able to model that as I'm using an offcut of 10mm ply. Maybe there will be Polmadie mark 2! GRUNFOS
Have just finished the 25, won't be weathering it more than it is now. The majority of the photos i've got and seen on the net show them to be fairly clean in the 70's. Used to see these nosedoor low numbered 25s 2 or 3 times an hour on the crewe - Cardiff service through Shrewsbury in my youth. I've just bought another and it will 25 063 it was the most common and to us the most boring thing to see! Anyone got a Tardis for rent???
GRUNFOS
More progress to report, ballst completed. Used klear original in a spray bottle, very quick. original card hardstanding did not like it. Have now repaced card with plastic sheet need to fill gaps with more ballast. Anyway a few pics. I think the last shot of the peak using natural light the is effect of shadows that was the reason for the diorama being built. must get it finished! Must also rerail the bl@@dy thing!!!!!
