gridwatcher
Work is now well progressed with finishing the far left hand board (as you view) with cement silos, grain silos and the ballast and sand drops. Still on course for debut at RailEx North East in late July 2017. Lighting rig also now under plan/contruction. Challenge is to produce an intense, shadow free, middle of Portuguese summer look!

gridwatcher
Here is the (almost) complete Cement Terminal. The overhanging roof now installed and the silos in place. "Cimpor" (guess what that stands for!?) logos just added will be better blended in with Matt Varnish.
gridwatcher
Some new images of the yard. piles of sand and stone are being tweaked. The 'smear' on top of sand piles is the mark made by tail board of tipper trucks as they drop load and pull forward. Nearly there. Scenics will be finished this month. Lighting rig in build as we speak in Southern Scotland.

gridwatcher
The last scenic update perhaps before debut? The lighting rigs are now built (in South Lanarkshire) and tested but not erected with boards yet (which are near Newcastle Upon Tyne). Warm white bright LED strips being chosen variety? These are the latest shots of the scenic station end and it all looks to be coming along nicely?? Gives you and idea of station layout and siding second from right that is effectively the headshunt for most of the grain/cement/ballast yard? The far right siding is timber loading? Suspect the yard goats (1400s) will get plenty of work in and out of headshunts? The third from right road is the one trains entering freight facility will draw up into. Guest
It's all looking fantastic, Si. Have you worked out a stock roster for Railex? Just curious if the RENFE 316 will make an appearance and if so, what it will haul?
gridwatcher
It's all looking fantastic, Si. Have you worked out a stock roster for Railex? Just curious if the RENFE 316 will make an appearance and if so, what it will haul? It returns from Portugal in a week or two and I need to fit a sound chip? Not sure what it will haul but suspect Corails with gen van. Will ask Andrew what it hauled on the tour? No need for excuses...we will just 'appear' it and watch the gasps of amazement at the bloody racket Pete! By the way. Cassettes and Fiddles are built for Waddon and it is going to Ayr in September. Will post some progress pictures..... Edited May 6, 2017 by gridwatcher

Well cover them in clart and make them Hellfire manky....of course. Whoever saw a pristine Alco in their latter days in Portugal?? Well done Andrew. He 'grew a pair' and has done a fabulous job....
