RMweb Gold JohnR Posted May 8, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 8, 2012 Are you talking about the 2-6-2 tanks or the 2-6-0 tender engines?
N15class
Sorry I am talking about the tender engines
RMweb Gold JohnR Posted May 8, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 8, 2012 It probably varied from depot to depot. Certainly 46463 and 46463 based at Dundee Tay Bridge did not have this lining after about 1958. I have a lot of photographs showing them in plain black with the late crest. N15class
I think the scotish and eastern ones lack any lining near the end.
steve fay
Yes both in black and green. lining was dropped by alot of works in the 60s if you search for Cambrian steam you can get some good pictures.
