Some lovely footage on both of the above videos. If anyone should wonder what is the enduring fascination of these beautiful machines, then just look at those shots of the A4 entering Pickering at the head of a rake of varnished teak; just the re-creation of those halcyon days of the railways in the 1930's.

 

When this finally disappeared, way back in the summer of 1968, who could have ever imagined that we would all be able to witness it again and to see it as many of us never did, in all of its pristine glory.
