Hi all,

Just a reminder that it is the annual event of those good folk "Lord & Butler"

Each year they hold a charity model railway show in Cardiff, the weekend of Father's Day.

Last year donations went to Ty Hafan children's hospice - this years collection will go to the Macmillan cancer charity.

Entry is free, but you can make a donation by putting a few coins into a bucket.... Exhibitors also give generously of their time, and a percentage of the shops' till takings is also donated.

This year, I am there with my new minimum space O gauge layout "Poynton Sneer" as seen on rmweb

along with Brian Tucker's superb "Ransom Bridge" DCC depot layout, Roger Swanns GN 15 layout, and Paul Rolley's inspirational circular steelworks layout "Castle Works" as featured in the model press recently

There will also be a weathering demo by Adrian, of "Dirty Boy" weathering

It's well worth a look, it's free, and it's all in a good cause

More details are here

Cheers all,

hope to see you there

Marc

I'm looking forward to seeing Castle Works again Brian...

Your brother has done a wonderful job!

I would never describe you as a lame anything sir ;)

See you there

EDIT: I misread that....

but wouldn't describe you as "tame" either!

Hi Marc, sadly I can't make it as every time this show is on I'm on holiday! Not back until 22nd. Not far off with the layout now, just the scenery, trackwork, electric and baseboard to do...>!!

Tony

Shame you can't make it Tony, as it's always good to see you mate...

You'll have to tell her you'd rather go to a train show, than go on holiday ;)

Perhaps you'll have the layout ready for nect years show?

PS. Still haven't done anything about selling Hendre Lane....

Cheers again

Marc

I'd rate this as the best one L&B have done - thanks to all exhibitors, it was a really enjoyable event. Good variety of layouts, too, ranging from the nice 00 layout upstairs, to Brian's Ransom Bridge, the excellent oN3 logging layout, Paul R's fabulous Castle Works (totally convincing in all respects), Roger's brilliantly surreal Gn3 mushroom works (special shout out to Myfanwy) and Marc's stunning Poynton Sneer, which apart from looking good is great fun to operate. There were also a couple of smaller N scale layouts running, a demo stand or two, and the usual temptations of L&B itself. Looking forward to next year already, and I hope to have a horse back in the race then.

Thank you for operating "poynton" and allowing me to get some lunch Mr Ten :)

Great to see you, and all the South Wales gang.

I'm sure your horse would be welcome next year

and would be a winner!

It was also good to see Myfanwy -

thanks for that lasting image Rouse2037 ;)

Cheers all,

here's to next year - might even get Cashmores done lol!

Ahh Myfanwy, if all passengers were like her I'd go back to travelling by train !'Gnott Mushroom Ltd' inspired me to slice some of the real thing when I got home.Brian R
