Thesmudge
I thought I would quickly knock a helix out, I have more wood on order and will finish it off soon. I might have to make another whilst I'm at it...

Ragtag
Interesting timber wagons, are those supposed to be KFAs? If so, how did you go about them? I picked up some Roco cargowaggons with the intention of converting them but the difference in scale makes them look silly.

7APT7
Nice Helix mate Where did you get that from or have you made it yourself....? What is the total width and height to each level of the Helix. Look forward to seeing more on the Helix. excellent photos... Jamie
Thesmudge
Hi, the helix is is designed and made by me, I have a laser cutter at work which is often handy. The total width is 1190mm (ie outer diameter of the helix), it uses 2nd and 3rd radius set track curves, the total height gain per level is 74mm (70mm plus the 4mm thickness of the board). This works out at just less than 1.5% incline.

drs37038
Hi great looking layout. Where did you get your DRS coach numbers from? cheers Andrew
RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted April 16, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 16, 2014 DRS coaches were bought so sadly I don't know where the numbers came from. Try R3 sprays though.
Thesmudge
The helix is getting there, I have a few more pieces to cut out to finish off this 3D jigsaw puzzle, then I can start to think about adding the pair of them to the layout. Here is a quick pic, just testing the parts, which has shown couple need modifying slightly.
Deltic Man
And some pictures from the day. We did a quick body swop from EWS to DCR, the EWS body will now be painted into another DCR colour scheme. RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted April 17, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 17, 2014 Deltic man, they are Heljan Cargowagons that we have added laser cut ends to. All designed and produced by my brother. We have now knocked out the correct style stanchions, will get some pics up when I've finally fitted them.
