Badgers Cross Modern 00 gauge loft layout DCC

Ok, so I went ahead and decided to add some more sidings over at the yard area. To do this I had to extend the baseboards and alter the mainline a bit, adding a straight section in, which has really made it look much better.

The buildings are a temporary, infact the 'shed' is my prototype shed used in the TMD area, I will be designing and making new buildings for this area too. In the photos you will also see my attempt at weathering an MPV. Hope you like.

So within a few hours I laid the new baseboard, track and then added the paper mâché.

Hopefully this will spur my bro to update the thread, the layout is still progressing. I have just finished another loco repaint. 47501 in DRS compass livery. Full repaint do Bachmann 47464. Precision decals used and coated in Testors Dullcote post transfers. Also fitted with modern style shutter grills as per real loco. It's fitted with Howes 47 sounds on a Loksound 3.5 decoder with bass speaker. Weathering is next with our new airbrush. Thus is another repaint that I'm really pleased with.

Hope you like.

A little update, I have laid new track and points into the new shed area, happy with these I then ballested an area of the track and have made the basic shell for the new large shed. At the same time I swooped out a set track point for a medium streamline point in the yard area, it had cuarsed a few derailments, hopefully this should sort it.

Time for another little update. My bro has been rather busy of late and layout progress has been very slow. I have been progressing with repaints and weathering of locos and modifying some stock, more on that another time! We have managed to play trains a few time and had great fun.

Anyway Bachmann 47 and 57 repainted into WCRC Maroon, first shot is post repaint and subsequent shots are post application of transfers. Next is weathering, sealing, window refit, fans etc. should be all built up for Monday night. Will update again then.

Also done a few other repaints which have been sold on. Below is 60040 DBS.

Hope you enjoy the pics. I'll give my little bro a kick up the bum to get some layout stuff done.

Next weekend we promise there will be layout pics! I will also get my bro to knock up a layout plan.

Anyway I finally got some paint to complete the first of 8 Colas style log wagons. They look the part but are not exact copies of the real stuff. Just need weathering and then the other 7 doing. It's a start though. Will get a pic of it connected to my Colas 56 at the the weekend coming. Any comments welcome.

Thought as I had some spare time tonight I would knock up another log wagon and then weathered the pair of them. Really enjoyed doing it and can't wait to get the full rake done. Anyway here's how I got on. The weekend will bring more pics and vids.

Looking good - how did you do the wagon ends? 3D/resin/ scratchbuilt?

Cheers,

Mick

The ends are laser cut fine fibreboard. My brother cad modelled and then laser cut them. Needless to say they are all identical and fit perfectly. Glad everyone likes them and thanks for the comments.
