D6775
Just a quickie as I can't find the answer (yes I am probably being thick!!). Do the Tsunami decoders work the same as a normal DCC (ie LokSound) decoder but with the addition of DC sound? I am running DCC and seriously considering a loco with the option of havinf a Tsunami QSI decoder ready fitted. Thanks, Al.
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted August 18, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 18, 2012 Tsunami and QSI are deadly rivals! Between them they are the top of the heap in US DCC sound, certainly in terms of market penetration. First of all, you need to ensure that the sound that is on offer is kosher for the loco that you intend to fit it to. Both systems work on everyday DCC - I have a number of each, but all US prototype locos with relevant sounds.
D6775
Ah right! Just had another look at the model and its definately a QSI decoder. I would hope the sound is correct, its a new model. I am pretty sure it will be, its been many years in development. Looks like decision is made!
