Brian D
Hi Everyone, I have just noticed that DJH have revamped their web site making the kits look quite tempting, especially as they produce a number of ex NER types which is my main area of interest. I've read on here somewhere that the DJH motor/gearbox combos are well thought of but I have no experience of these kits and wondered what the general RMWeb feedback might be for these kits. I'm tempted to try a J50 for starters. I look forward to hearing from anyone who has put one of these kits together. Regards, Brian.

micklner
Have they improved the chassis/frames on the earlier kits ? otherwise avoid.
Horsetan
Revamping the website was cheaper than revamping the kits. I don't think the kits will ever be revamped.
Brian D
Have they improved the chassis/frames on the earlier kits ? otherwise avoid. I don't know. The web site quotes of the J50 "etched coupling rods and chassis".
Horsetan
....The web site quotes of the J50 "etched coupling rods and chassis". DJH mostly have etched chassis and motion, but these are long out of date in terms of finesse now. You'd only use 36thou-thick mainframes if you were operating your models in a war zone and were expecting to be shelled by anti-tank weapons.

Maybe its just incase the models decide to take the leap of faith?
Horsetan
....in case the models decide to take the leap of faith? I wouldn't be wanting to join a faith that believes in mass suicide.
