rob94
Hi AllHere is my first post on RMweb hopefully the first of many, it is about the layout Earlsheaton that is currently being readied for it's apperance at Wakefield Show this year.It is built by Me, my Dad who is layout manager and 3 others who have never built a layout before. The layout has mostly scratch built buildings on, these were made with help of drawings of the buildings them selves. The track is code 100 and are all elctro-frog in the senic section and deadfrog in the fiddle yard. The layout is straight DC with 2 control boxes for the mainlines and a seperate one for the goods yard. Here are some photos that were taken at Gildersome showThis one wasn't taken at the show it was taken at the clubroomsAnyway I'll stop boring you all now,Thanks, Rob
Brian D
Hi Rob, This looks a really nicely finished layout. I especially like the night shot above - very effective. Do you have any other exhibitions planned, perhaps a little further south so I could see it in the flesh? Regards, Brian.

rob94
Do you have any other exhibitions planned, perhaps a little further south so I could see it in the flesh? Thanks Brian we don't have any invites after Wakefield as the layout has only been seen twice in public, once at the clubs open day and the other at Gildersome show, although once we have exibited at Wakefield show we hopefully will get some interest but it will probably be another year before it's next apperance at an exibition. I hope that explains it. Thanks, Rob
rob94
Hi all Tonight we fitted a fugrex point motor to operate a signal on the inside line, pictures to follow on monday folks Rob
rob94
The signal took a little longer than anticipated then we decided to make the other one work and I also put off uploading the pictures for about a month anyway here they are. Warming up the iron The D-Type out the back of the control box The fulgrex motor is on the left and the base of the ratio signal is circled The swich on the control pannel controls the signal, and the swich also corresponds to which way the signal is set. Point control is via stud and pencil. The layout is booked to appear at Wakefield show on the 30/11/2012 - 02/12/2012 Rob
Bagpuss
The second and last photos in the first post are crackers. Love the haze in that second shot. Reminds me of an early morning - whatever they are! Good luck with the show.
rob94
Hi all here are the last set of photos to be posted before the exibition because the layout is now dismanteled. These were taken during the freight testing sesions, ok some of the stock might not be realistic but it's all we've got without reverting to kit building at least half the stock. New ground signals Cattle dock with lamps ? Don't know if this is realistic, one of the layout team built it and put these on and said he won't take them off !! They also seem prone to beeing bent. rob94
Hi Everyone Sorry for lack of updates this is partly due to the fact that we were so busy there was hardly any time to take photos and mostly that I lost the camera charger for about a month until I found it earlier. Pacific Saturday: for the last hour nearly every train was hauled by a pacific and a beattie well tank shunted the yard. This engine hauled 22 coaches round the layout for the last 10 mins of the show. Here is the beattie It was a nice show and there were a few problems on the caused by expansion of the rail and some isolators stopped they were all fixed though during the show. If you came thank you and we hope you enjoyed yourselves because we enjoyed the show and operating the layout. If you have anyphotos you wish to add then please feel free. And Finally here is a picture of the real place we are going to be adding the missing building and putting in some point rodding. Hope you all have a good new year. rob94
Hi all On monday we had a running night were members were ivited to bring along their stock and give them a run on our layout. The stock ranged from my deatailed caledonian pug to a Bachmann class 70. Even part of the royal train ran through with a Dutchess on the front. One member brought down his kit built GCR Q1 and it ran well forwards and not so well backwards, he told us that on a different layout it ran better going backwards than forwards. The yard was not operated in full. Members put their stock on the rails there and we drove it out. Rob

rob94
Well I'm not sure why I have not posted an update in nearly 2 years. Anyway here are a selection of photos from yesterdays running evening. Ex-GWR Prairie with a rake of trucks that have been converted to use 3-link couplings. My J39 complete with comet chassis that now runs properly thanks to Tony Wright Here it is again next to the signal box Another J39 this time Wills with a North Eastern Dave Alexander tender A very early Rovex princess complete with plunger pick ups and plastic driving wheels. It did run but had some disagreements with the points. A relative of the princess, City Of Bristol stands behind. And finally a Hornby black 5 that has been renumbered to represent a local example. The layout will be at Ingrow on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway this weekend along with Troutons A fellow club layout Hope to see you there Cheers Rob
