RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted October 4, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 4, 2012 Here's first sight of some new items for a 'ChinaRail' layout. They were quite a surprise regarding the quality and 'extras'. Anyway, judge for yourselves! They, and other wagons & coaches will be making their first movements on DRAG's TT2 next Monday evening. Snaps will be posted! A QJ 2-10-2 ND5 An SY 2-8-

RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted October 5, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 5, 2012 Nice aren't they I've used a Sountraxx Tsunami in my QJ the one for the Southern Pacific GS4 as it has an airhorn option. So rather than two different whistles, ones replaced with an airhorn.
Glorious NSE
Nice - hadn't seen the tank and 'caboose' before. A QJ is on my 'wishlist' as well, but as one of the pair that Iowa Interstate operates...
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted October 5, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 5, 2012 There are some nice big C64 gondolas and several new coaches but the prices are going up all the time.

stadman
Had 3 great trips to China (2001/ 3 and 4 ), fascinating time Have a photo of SY0540 hauling a passenger train near Fuxin coal mine (2001) Not much other than the 3 steam loco's and 2 vans to my collection. Have some Walthers Difco side dump cars, similar to the coal trucks used in aforementioned mine. Kev S
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Where dya get your QJs from? As far as I can find out, they're all out of stock apart from the nasty blue ones. Also how much? I should have bought them before the prices went mad!
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted October 22, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 22, 2012 Yes the QJ's are rare over here in the last few years, best place is eBay occasionally. MGsharp were the last place I knew had them but they've shown out of stock for around 3-4 years. Technically you can order from any Bachmann stockist but it would depend on how many are in a carton as they'd need to have orders for around 6, which seems to be the usual carton size for US and Chinese according to the catalogues. I'd suggest an email to Bachmann to ask what the situation as they seem to show out of stock on their website. http://www.Bachmann.co.uk/prod1.php?prod_selected=china&prod=
stadman
Obtained mine through local model shop (Exeter, see some banner ad's on this site) He ordered direct from Bachmann UK for me (And another Exe MRS member for the QJ) Am just outside of Exeter, if anyone want's to see one. RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted October 25, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 25, 2012 Three more new arrivals. The weight of the diesels is quite remarkable! An ND5? (not sure but I like it!) A very 'Russian looking' loco. A JS, my favourite.

RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted November 10, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2013 Anyone interested Kent Garden Railways had quite a few locos and some stock at Tolworth Showtrain. It's a secondhand collection but in mint condition and the prices are good. I got a bit off for buying two QJ's which were priced at £110 and they don't seem to have been out the box let alone run. Drop them a line to find out what's left if interested. There were at least 3-4 HO steam and several diesels left. Interestingly there are some N gauge Chinese DF4B diesels turning up on eBay at present. Seem to be made by 'China Railway'
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Enquiry sent, thanks Paul. QJs at a ton? I'd bite yer fingers off!
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted November 11, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2013 Thought it might be attractive which is why a couple left with me, there were two left and at that price it's worth renumbering if you've already got it. There were a couple of SY's too but I didn't check too closely on them. Freight stock is what I still need as I've got two rakes of passenger coaches, sadly none to see there but I should have asked really!

10800
It's not a layout, just a test track to which a colleague brought these models to show us. So there's no layout to visit I'm afraid.
