steamtrain
Hi All Have bought a bargain priced Windhoff MPV which is DCC enabled. As far as I know there is no sound chip for it and want to put want to put one in. Has anyone already done this and have they got a reasonable result? If not can anyone suggest something suitable? I am, of course, well aware that as soon as I come up with a solution the correct sound chip will become available! Any thoughts on this? Cheers

Pugsley
Got a Howes one too. Absolutely fantastic, but have no clue what the siren on the thing is for.... It's probably the same sort of thing that was (is?) fitted to Tampers and other OTP, to warn any staff that are working around the machine that a train is coming on the other line. These things are usually so loud in operation (the 07 series tampers for definite) that you wouldn't hear anything coming over them. HTH
