Will J
Brilliant, the fence dividing the yard from the station has turned a nice little layout into one that looks incredibly 'proper'..hard to put a finger on it, but it just works. Do you plan to exhibit it?
RMweb Premium lash Posted December 17, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 17, 2012 Very nice indeed . I agree it just works so well with the right amount of detail. How long was the build in total ?
Wherry Lines
I have to say that I think this is a cracking little layout. It may well inspire me to produce something along similar lines to test out alternative coupling in N gauge...
sammyboy
A very nice little layout, it feels just like a modern branch terminus!
matt-b
Hello Thanks for the comments.. I`m pleased with it, the 37 needs lowering though. I dont really use the yard line, just leave 2 VGA`s there and run DMU`s in and out, with a 66 on route leaning now and again. Total build time was about a month, i`ve just added the detail, someone else built it for me. I dont plan to exhibition it. After christmas i will do some pictures using my Mercig models. Thanks, Matt
RMweb Premium Claude_Dreyfus Posted December 19, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 19, 2012 I dont plan to exhibition it. ...which is a pity, as it looks a really decent little layout. I'm sure it would be popular. That said, showing is not everyone's cup of tea, and I'm sure you will get a lot of enjoyment from it.

matt-b
The layout now has a First Great Western 153 to bring the layout more up to date. Any think of anything else it could do with? Matt
47475
Nice layout. Just the sort of layout I also wanted too - clearly our layouts were built by the same person. Here's what Chesterton might have looked like a few years earlier! IMG_3140 by G-ARPO, on Flickr You've inspired to to start a thread on my layout too. Look out for 'Denton'. Thanks for sharing Chesterton - I definitely look forward to more photos. Ian
matt-b
Yes that does look alot like how mine started. I have moved my modelling era to the present day now though, so will maybe move on my 156 and 150. Matt
47475
Well if that means getting rid of any of your earlier locos or units, do let me know as I could be interested.

MRDBLUE17
Hi Matt, Just seen your layout for the first time and have to say its fantastic. Very realistic and like the fact you have kept it simple and not cluttered the scene. Look forward to seeing more pics with your nicely weathered stock on it. All the best Mark
