micknich2003
Worsdell, you asked if anymore. Just remembered the attached, ex NE "Y8", 4mm scale, and all "Homebrewed" that is apart from the wheels which are "K's" and likewise the cast saftey valve cover and etched side rods. The photo is dated Sept 1983, 29 years ago, so pressumably the time I built it. Mick.

micknich2003
Just found the attached an Y8 "Somewhere in Hull" or so the reverse of the print says. It will almost certainly be Victoria Dock. Mick.

Darren If you decide to have a go, I still have all the drawings. A Y8 or similar would be ideal for a first attempt at scratchbuilding. At your usual rate of progress, you could have one knocked out within a week. Best Wishes, Mick.
micknich2003
How did you find a motor small enough to fit in 1983? The then standard K's motor fitted. Indeed K's made a kit of the same engine, it was them who supplied the wheels and etched side rods. Best Wishes, Mick.
Earlswood Nob
Good morning all The Mashima 1015 is small enough (and better than the Kays motor). I used the High Level Humpshunter 108:1 geabox in my Kays Y8. It gives good slow running, down to less than 1mph scale speed. Earlswood nob
