RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted December 10, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 10, 2012 My trusty steed - the infamous KEM991P, a 1.6L Capri, fitted with alloys, obtained by the previous owner at an RTA (he was the policeman attending but forgot the spare in the boot), notice the battle scars, the front bumper is missing due to an, cough, err, incident. It got me and the boys 'round and took us to lots of places. Kirby Stephen, summer 1980 Ais Gill Armathwaite More when I find them !
Mike T
You need to post a pic of 991P when it was re liveried to red just to show you didn't always mistreat her! :-)
RMweb Premium Physicsman Posted December 10, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 10, 2012 A good post Dave! We ought to consider you an honorary member of the S&C clan! And I remember when P reg was new. My first car was SEK 447M, 1974 - so that makes your Capri a '76. Those were the days, with petrol at about 70p a gallon (about 15p a litre). Dig up a few more pics if you can. Jeff
eastwestdivide
Wot no trains? [smiley face with big nose peeping over a wall] Mind you, the S&C was a bit like that in those days - my 78-79 timetable has just the three passenger services a day each way. RMweb Premium Physicsman Posted December 10, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 10, 2012 I'm guessing those were colour prints that you've scanned? Or did you use colour slides? Either way, the colour rendition is good. Now if you'd been there when a train went through we'd have been able to compare your photos with the livery... Got any more pics? Jeff Hi Jeff, these are colour negs, Fuji film. I've got some shots of most of the cabins that were around in the early 1980s, but they won't necessarily appear immediately, I can see Howe and Cos at the bottom of the current batch of negs, I think I will run out of time today though I'm afraid.
