Yet another project on the work bench that i have also been working on over the past few weeks is this portacabin over generator building.

This is completely scratch built using 30thou plastikard and various other materials.  It is not yet finished as there are other smaller details yet to be added.

I am very happy with how it looks so far and i think it looks good situated between the mainline split.

Awesome work there Terry, so much refined detail.

I don't know if you'd be interested, but ESU at SWDigital  http://www.southwestdigital.co.uk/ do some 0.5mm wire (multistrand) (Part No's: 51940 - 51949) which I find is better for hiding around buildings and signal gantries ;) ;) It's the same size as decoder wire and available in all the decoder colours too :imsohappy::imsohappy: I know what a sod it is trying to hide wires :stink:

Evening all

Well my next job that has been on the "to do list" for some time now and i have eventually got round to doing it, is to sort out my two older Heljan class 33's pictured.

They have not run right since the day i got them and it got to the point where i never bothered with them and they just sat on the layout or shelf for ages and never got run.

So with some help from others on RMWEB i found out that it was the wheels that were causing the issue. No matter how much i cleaned the wheels and pick ups they would just never run properly as the older Heljan models came with copper/brass wheels therefore didnt really conduct the electricity and were a ###### to keep clean.

So i went about contacting Howes models who are the main UK stockists for Heljan and got myself two sets of new steel wheels to replace the old copper/brass wheels to see if that would cure the issue. The wheels were not cheap at £9 odd per set but i'm sure the end result will be worth it.

I also like 33's and have 3 out of 7 to renew the wheel set's...........only 1 NSE is weathered.

The pic. depict's one of the pair, that unloaded the freight from the ferry at Western Dock's,Dover, replacing the 08/09's.

On my layout, in the Dover Town Yard...
