Richard Mawer
Hi A simple question (I hope). Given the ROD 2-8-0's were Swindon conversions of Robinson O4's, were they right hand driver position (like normal GWR locos), or were they left hand drive which I presume they were originally? Thanks Rich
RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted January 13, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 13, 2013 Weren't GC locos RHD? Many companies were until the 1920s.
Richard Mawer
I have no idea! I thought all companies but the GWR were left hand drive. I could easily be wrong! Any more info anyone?
RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted January 13, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 13, 2013 I have no idea! I thought all companies but the GWR were left hand drive. I could easily be wrong! Any more info anyone? The GWR were definitely RHD but I don't know about the RODs they had as to whether they were/needed converted.
Coach bogie
All my ROD photos show the reversing rod/linkage fitted on the right indicating right hand drive. Mike Wiltshire

Silver Sidelines
Hello Rich, seems that Bachmann agree, their O2 and ex GWR 3000 have identical cab details with RH drive. Ray
