RMweb Gold Phatbob Posted May 15, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2013 Has anybody had any experience, good or bad, of trying to remove "Johnsons Klear" from a painted surface? I managed to get some on a Dapol class 22 and didn't notice until after it had set :-( I was thinking of trying a suitable solvent on a cotton bud. Many thanks people. Bob. Pugsley
Household ammonia should shift it, although you may run into problems if the underlying paint is also acrylic. I'd check it on a discreet area first to make sure that it won't affect the base finish. HTH
RMweb Gold 57xx Posted May 16, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 16, 2013 I've found meths removes it after using some to try and alter some pressfix transfers on a Klear coated wagon. Not the result I was expecting! Obviously, test it first for yourself before trying it on your model.
