Twright
100th reply! Thank you to all who have commented and liked the things that I have done. And also I have marked out the frames ready for cutting the holes for the wheels - there will be more bracing underneath so it shouldn't split this time. Twright
I have fixed the roof onto the van now:
Nelson Jackson
The roof looks good, who's and what size of plasticard did you use?
Twright
It's 40thou and I don't know the make - it's just sold a a plain A4 sheet. I also used your tip about putting another strip of plasticard over any bracing so it doesn't show up - it worked perfectly. To get it to curve I selotaped it around curved pot for a day then glued it on.
Twright
I have also added the end strips on the roof which will be cut down and painted when I next have a pot of white paint out.
Nelson Jackson
I've just ordered some 40thou from Hattons, so I'll see what that's like, it looks really good on your van. I'm glad my tip worked out ok for you. Can't wait to see your next update. Speack to you later mate, Nelson

Twright
The van has now been mainly finished with some paper transfers added. The new frames for the Peckett have now had the wheel holes added.
Twright
The fairly finished van:
Nelson Jackson
Wow that looks superb, well done. Are the transfers printed onto decal paper or normal paper? They look really good.
Twright
Normal A4 paper.
Twright
The new chassis has been made although I will still add a bit more bracing. It does work when the wires are attached but I haven't put pick-ups on so it won't run on the track yet. Another coat of paint has also been added to the saddle tank. Nelson Jackson
Brilliant news, very nice work.
Twright
It may look crude but it does work, albeit with a bit of assistance now and then (sometimes one of the axles doesn't turn far enough so it locks it - any reason for this? I think it is because of the lack of weight but correct me if I'm wrong) The cab has a painted roof and so all it needs are handrails and some touching up, as does the saddle tank. Twright
The Peckett now has the sub frames reunited with the main frames and it does, with help, move forwards and backwards. I have also started on my Coopercraft Loco coal wagon kit. Since I took this picture, I have built most of the body. Question - What colour would the ex GWR coal wagons have been painted in BR days? Twright
The kit is now complete apart from weight and coal.
Nelson Jackson
Superb work. Was it a simple kit to put together? And are the wheels plastic?
Twright
Superb work. Thanks Was it a simple kit to put together? Yes, fairly simple so long as you read the instructions . And are the wheels plastic? No, they are metal. HTH
Twright
After help from Mike (The Stationmaster) and John (brossard) the coal wagon has been painted in black (photos when dry). The Peckett has had it's cylinders added and it still runs. When It works better I might add a video if the interest is there.
Nelson Jackson
RMweb is the best place to get answers and help, can't wait for the photos. Yeah, I'm sure me and others would love to see a running vid of your Peckett
Twright
In that case when it runs reliably I will make a video. I have moved the positions of the ballast weights so hopefully it might run better.
Twright
The loco coal wagon is painted black alhough as it has had only 1 coat of paint I might add another. The new position of the Peckett's weights can be seen on the motor.
Nelson Jackson
The wagon looks absolutely superb, well done, Im guessing you are going to put a full real coal load in?
