David Todd
Puts his grandad in the shade with his scenery work. Have you subcontracted the whole door height cliff face behind the yard to him? Looks like even more folk will get laid-off here in the Blaydon sweat shop dh Sill awaiting, your decision, on whether to keep , the MK ii, Folkestone Road back scene, or are you going to make more "Refinement's" Edited February 19, 2015 by David Todd

David Todd
Experimenting with scenery,in the Gully. Last night I found some extruded foam, I had hacksawed in half, months ago, a light coat of Copydex was applied, then sprinkled with static grass, without using the applicator. David Todd
Pics, taken yesterday @ DP.....as you cannot access the gully,it is also difficult to take it from above,or the side's. Left hand side, looking south at Harbour tunnel, through, Folkestone road over Bridge. Right hand side, looking south, though the bay loop, single arch.

jcredfer
That second picture reminds me of a reoccurring nightmare idea I have about soldering short bits of wire to connect the ends of tracks instead of droppers ......... Ok, it was just an idea, I guess it is the front of the class again for a few months .....
fender
strikes me that the gully between the tunnel and the folkstone bridge would make a nice micro layout!
David Todd
Hi David, The trees look great, and had a look at their website, some nice stuff. Are you happy with the blue lines now? They look just spot on to me. Jinty ;-) Nope, starting again, (The day at Tonbridge, tomorrow,) will have another look on Sunday............. I really like the hanging weeds/trees etc spilling down the left cliff face. what did you use for that? Heki, bush/trees. A backing of Celotex, then bit o' plaster,........

I'd say go with it! You really do seem to have mastered the technique of representing the cutting back of chalk. We are all waiting for the door height one behind the yard now..... dh PS Thanks for those links - I'll get the Sweat Shop on the task ..and lock the doors

David Todd
Are you going to shew us any of the goodies filched from Tonbridge? dh No, but, Over a period of time, I have been looking at led signal control for DP. There are a multitude of components' and method's. I am looking for something, just up from a (several) rotary switch(es). Infra-red detector's appeal to me. Even though,I have an ESU command station,I don't really wish to use decoder's. These, are the type of signal's, I wish to represent. They are, 1-Aspect, 3-colour. Leds. They are definitely not, commonly made, in the model railway world. Control, I have found, can be done. But, there are tri-colour leds, around, but, again, apparently, not the correct colour yellow... This is the link to the chaps I met at the Tonbridge show. modelrailwayelectronics Items' bought, very few, no stock, I have too much. Large light grey.ballast,2mm for a trial, C&L Finescale 2. Small Flatback trees, from Keith at Realisticmodelling Some led building light's, and Flood's on a post, from Layouts4u

It might be worth having a word with Absolute Aspects, they showed me some castings they have of that type of signal head at one of the shows. Although they are not showing on the site they may be able to do something for you. Using a decoder to drive searchlight signals does make life easier because you have full control of the brightness of each of the red and green LEDs to get a good mix for the yellow. Careful choice of the LED (RGB PLCC4 surface mount types tend to be quite good) and you could have true green as well rather than the wishy-washy green often seen in older colour light and searchlight signals. It should not be too hard to create a bit of automation on the ECoS to set the aspects of a couple of signals based on HSI88 occupancy detectors. Rob Rossington
The signals in question are manufactured by Unipart Dorman, they are single aperture, 3 aspect signals. The drawings for them are available here http://www.unipartdorman.co.uk/productsearch/default.aspx?Type=1&Range=Trackside%20Signals Edited February 22, 2015 by Rob Rossington

Suzie
The LDT RM-GB-8 is all you need for occupancy detection, You don't need the LDT HSI-88-USB because that functionality is already built into your ECoS.
